Single-firing glazes involve simultaneously firing the raw clay and the colored glass, finely ground on the clay, in the same single firing. Thanks to its exclusivity, it's a technical and energy-saving firing method that produces glazed products with the nuances of natural terracotta.

Glazed terracotta is the result of rigorous work and an ancestral technique. Finely ground colored glass is deposited on the terracotta. From glossy to matte to metallic, the fusion between enamel and firing gives it its unmistakable character. Twice fired glazing owes its name to a second high-temperature firing that makes the finely ground glass extremely resistant, allowing the clay to self-vitrify and the glaze to set.

Glazed bricks

Subtle, elegant effects for powerful, colorful results, Rairies Montrieux hand-molded glazed brick brings modernity and dynamism to your creations.

Enamel treatment, an age-old technique

A 4,000-year-old technique, enameling involves applying a melting mineral material composed mainly of silica and metal oxides to one side of the brick. It is applied in a thin, cold layer to a pre-baked part, then placed in the oven to set and solidify.

Enamel gives brick a smooth, glossy, waterproof surface. This vitrification process makes the texture and color of the surface homogeneous and highly resistant. The result is vibrant color that lasts.

Master the color

Enameled or glazed bricks come in a wide range of colors, allowing you to give free rein to your inspiration. This contemporary material adds a distinctive touch to any architectural style.

Thanks to its expertise, Rairies Montrieux is setting trends with a range of bricks in brilliant, original colors and effects that are as delicate as they are powerful. A true source of inspiration, these bricks let you express your creativity for sustainable, lively facades.

For example, choose subtle, luminous greens to give even the most urban environment a touch of rejuvenating nature, or opt for a red with vibrant pigments to liven up a building lacking in energy.

Customize your bricks

Rairies Montrieux produces glazed bricks made from natural raw materials such as clay. These allow architects to express their creativity in an environmentally-friendly way.

Rectangular, square, hexagonal or made-to-measure, our bricks are available in a variety of shapes, from the simplest to the most original.

We offer three finishes: enamelled for glossy or matt colors, vitrified for a transparent effect, metallic for a light effect and a range of 200 colors on request and RAL reference.

The benefits of glazed brick

Glazed brick is a particularly resistant product thanks to the varnish applied to its surface. In addition to its aesthetic and architectural advantages, it meets specific technical needs and is not chosen at random for facade cladding.

Thanks to their resistance to impact and graffiti, they are particularly recommended for use in sensitive neighborhoods. They are easy to clean and do not require additional special treatment or regular major renovations like paint. This waterproofing also makes them more weather-resistant.

Like all terracotta bricks, glazed bricks are a plus when it comes to insulation, thanks to their inertia. Last but not least, they are durable and easy to install.
