Moucharabieh brick

330 x 50 x 90 mm

How did you come up with the project? What were your main challenges?

The main objective was to create a building in tune with the Mediterranean climate and architectural culture. Located in a ZAC (urban development zone), it was also important for us to propose a building with the ambition of contributing to the district's identity.

Why did you choose Moucharabieh bricks for your facade project? What expressions/animations did you want to convey?

Moucharabieh bricks have enabled us to reinterpret in a contemporary way the claustras found in buildings in our region. They provide an aesthetically pleasing distribution of natural light into the loggias. The bricks are an elegant addition to the architectural style of the façade, and thus to the identity of the building and the emerging neighborhood in which it is located.

Generally speaking, what do you like best about terracotta?

Its historical dimension and its ability to renew itself in today's and tomorrow's architectural landscape.

Can you give us 3 adjectives to describe this project?

Territorial, frugal, tinctorial.
